Uttarakhand Tunnel Rescue PMO’s official geomapping team likely to rescue workers trapped at site after vertical drilling for more than 140 hours

Uttarakhand Tunnel Rescue: Efforts to rescue 40 workers trapped in the Uttarkashi tunnel have entered their seventh day. Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Deputy Secretary Mangesh Ghildiyal has reached the spot, hours after workers heard ‘crack’ sounds and stopped drilling due to a technical glitch. Former PMO advisor Bhaskar Khulbe also visited the incident site and said that PM Narendra Modi’s message was to start the operation as soon as possible. He said that they do not lack any resources and options and some coordinated action is required.

“We will not leave even a single possibility to find a way out because reaching out to those who are stuck here for many days is our priority. We do not lack any resources, options and ideas, we just need some coordinated action. And we are trying to form teams and somehow reach there…” Khulbe said.

He said, “We are also exploring the option of vertical drilling…we are also getting help from foreign consultants…PM Modi’s message is that this operation should be done as soon as possible.”

Geomapping teams and drilling machines have also reached the Silkyara tunnel, in which 40 workers have been trapped since last week. Geologist Varun Adhikari visited the site and said they are exploring various possibilities including geomapping.

“Geologists from the concerned organizations are here, we will listen to their possibilities then we will decide on the possibilities…RVNL, JVVNL…are here and we are also involving ONGC, we are trying to contact all the PSUs. Have been.” ” He said.
