New Delhi: The winner of Miss Universe 2023 is Miss Nicaragua. Miss Nicaragua became the 72nd Miss Universe after a tough competition among contestants from 90 countries. Antonia Porsild of Thailand was the runner-up, followed by Moray Wilson of Australia in third place. Miss Universe 2022 winner, R’Bonnie Gabriel of USA took her crown live on stage to the cheers of the audience.

Miss Nicaragua was named for Mary Wollstonecraft, a pioneer of feminism and champion of women’s rights.
Eighty-four women from around the world took to the Miss Universe stage. Additionally, the theme of this year’s competition was development and inclusivity. The first two women to compete were two married mothers, María Camila Avella Montánez of Colombia and Michelle Cohn of Guatemala. Miss Nepal Jane Deepika Garrett created history by becoming the first plus size model to enter.
Representing India, Shweta Sharda finished in the top 20 in the highly sought-after competition. In international competition, Pakistan’s Erica Robin made her debut.
The José Adolfo Pineda Arena in El Salvador hosted the 72nd Miss Universe pageant. 12-time GRAMMY winner John Legend also performed for audiences and audiences around the world. Maria Menounos, former Miss Universe, presented the program, along with Jeannie Mai and Olivia Culpo.
The 2023 Miss Universe pageant was held on Saturday, November 18 at 6:30 am Indian Standard Time and 8 pm Eastern Time/5 pm Pacific Time. Both Miss Universe’s YouTube channel and her X account broadcast live coverage of the event.
