Madhya Pradesh Election 2023 Digvijay Singh Congress worker Salman Khan Murder BJP Arvind Pateria

Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh started an indefinite protest outside a police station demanding the arrest of BJP candidate from Rajnagar constituency Arvind Pateria in the case of alleged murder of a Congress worker during the state assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh. In this incident, there was a clash between BJP and Congress workers in Rajnagar, in which Congress worker Salman Khan died on Friday.

Police registered a case of alleged murder against Patria and others late on Friday night, saying Khan was run over by a car. MP BJP chief VD Sharma claimed that Khan’s death was an accident, while Singh insisted that it was a murder. Singh took the body of deceased Salman Khan to Khajuraho police station, where he started a sit-in along with other Congress workers.

“I am not going to call off the protest until the accused are arrested,” Digvijay Singh told reporters as quoted by PTI.

In a post on Twitter, Digvijay Singh said, “Congress workers are sitting at the Khajuraho police station along with the three Congress candidates from Chhatarpur and thousands of workers with Salman’s mortal remains. We have been requesting the police for five hours.” To take action against the accused, but despite filing FIR the police is not doing anything. She is not even recording the statements of eyewitnesses. Police are not confiscating the belongings of the accused. The victim’s family is not ready to bury Salman’s body. Without any action. We are forced to sit at the police station for justice.

He said, “I appeal to Congress workers across the state to unite against this atrocity against our workers. Wherever you are, raise your voice from where ever you are and let the BJP-led government fight against our workers in the next few days.” Force to ensure justice for.”

Speaking to news agency PTI, the Congress leader said, “BJP candidates attacked and killed one of our Congress workers. Police have registered the case, but no arrest or vehicle has been seized yet. The promises he made have not been fulfilled. That’s why we are protesting peacefully.”

There was a fight on Rajnagar seat between Kunwar Vikram Singh of Congress and Arvind Patria of BJP. Congress supporter Salman Khan died during this clash. In response, former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh visited Khajuraho, met the family of the deceased and staged a protest at the police station.

Singh urged Congress workers across the state to unite against the alleged injustice and sought justice for his party workers.

According to PTI report, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vikram Singh said that the matter is being investigated and action will be taken accordingly.
