Madhya Pradesh Election 2023: Amidst the ongoing voting on 230 assembly seats of the state, reports of stone pelting have come to light from different areas of the state. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Rakesh Shuka was injured after stone pelting in Manhar village of Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday. It is being told that the glass of Shukla’s car was also broken in this incident. Heavy police force has been sent to the spot.
Meanwhile, in a similar incident in Jhabua, Congress has alleged that BJP workers pelted stones at Congress leaders and allegedly stopped the cadre’s vehicle. Congress candidate from Jhabua, Vikant Bhuria, said that there is ‘goonda raj’ in Jhabua.

Additionally, BJP workers reportedly stopped Congress MP Nakul Nath, son of former CM and party leader Kamal Nath, from entering a polling booth in Bararipura in Chhindwara.
Police said violence was also reported from two polling stations – 147 and 148 – of Dimani assembly constituency in Mirghan in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district, where two groups pelted stones. According to ANI, one person was injured in this incident. Police have said that the situation is under control and adequate security deployment has been made at the spot after the clash.
Police have made security arrangements at all polling stations in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh as voting is underway in both the states. Voting is going on for 70 seats in the second phase of elections in Chhattisgarh and the main contenders in both the states are Congress and BJP.
