Telangana Assembly Elections: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao on Friday took a dig at Congress candidate from Jubilee Hills Mohammad Azharuddin. Addressing a rally in Hyderabad, Rao said Azharuddin was nowhere before the elections and if he comes to them (the public), “play cricket with him, but vote for BRS”.
“Mohammed Azharuddin was nowhere to be seen before the elections. If he comes here, let your children play cricket with him (Congress candidate Azharuddin), but vote for the BRS candidate,” the BRS leader said.

After voting ends on November 25 in Rajasthan, voting is to be held in Telangana on November 30. Voting has already been completed in Chhattisgarh, Mizoram and Madhya Pradesh.
The major contenders in the southern state are the Congress and the ruling BRS. On Friday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge unveiled the party’s manifesto, outlining key promises and initiatives. The manifesto included provision of 1 tola gold (equivalent to 10 grams) for brides, distribution of free electric scooters to female students, a commitment to create 2 lakh jobs and crop loan waiver of Rs 2 lakh.
The party also promised to restore daily “Praja Darbar” at the CM camp office and said the MLA will be continuously available to the people of his constituency and will organize regular “Praja Darbar” under good governance.
