MP Assembly Elections 2023: As voting for the 230-seat Madhya Pradesh Assembly draws to a close, both the BJP and the Congress are making last-minute efforts to weaken each other in the ongoing election battle. Now, former CM and MP Congress chief Kamal Nath has taken a dig at both BJP and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and said the saffron party is feeling “embarrassed” in naming Chouhan as its face for the top post in the state.
Responding to a question about BJP’s roadmap for a ‘prosperous Madhya Pradesh’, Kamal Nath said BJP is ashamed of declaring Shivraj as its CM face, adding, “They (BJP) have even Said that we will announce (CM’s name) after the elections “.
On MP Home Minister Narottam Mishra’s comment that Pakistan will celebrate if any party other than BJP wins the elections, Kamal Nath said, “First let Narottam Mishra win himself and then we will talk about Pakistan.”

The former MP CM said, “BJP is making desperate efforts through money, police, administration. They distributed money and liquor yesterday; I also got videos.”
Both BJP and Congress have expressed confidence of winning the elections, claiming large numbers in their favor. The Congress has said it will win more than 175 seats and the BJP “will not be able to break its MLAs like in 2020”.
Voting is also underway for the second phase of voting on 70 constituencies in Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh, where the party has some big names in the electoral fray on Friday. Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel said that good news is coming from everywhere. He said, “People are reaching the polling booths and exercising their franchise. Those who are at home, I appeal to them to cast their votes… There is a one-sided atmosphere everywhere, trust is on Congress.”
