Three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists killed in Kulgam encounter in Jammu and Kashmir. Operation is going on. Army’s 34 Rashtriya Rifles, 9 Para (elite special force unit), police and CRPF are carrying out the operation.

After receiving information about the presence of terrorists, a joint team of police, army and CRPF conducted a search operation in the area. During the search, an encounter took place between security forces and terrorists in Samnu area of Kulgam district.
Indian Aerospace Defense News reported that the Army has killed two terrorists in Kulgam on Thursday.

Meanwhile, according to ANI report, the Army on Wednesday foiled a terrorist infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector. This was the second attempt by terrorists to infiltrate into the same area. The army said two infiltrators, including Bashir Ahmed Malik (a key figure in Pakistan-backed cross-border terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir), were killed.

Earlier last week, a terrorist of The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was killed by security forces during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district. According to PTI report, after receiving information about the presence of terrorists, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Katohlan area. During the operation, the terrorists fired on the forces following which they retaliated.
In October, two more terrorists were killed by security forces. Kashmir Zone Police said, the encounter started on specific information from Kupwara Police.
